Please tell me there's someone else around here that gets annoyed with how certain animes tend to drag out their awesomness after so many episodes? Seriously. Take InuYasha, for example. I love that show, don't get me wrong, but the fact there are SO many episodes bugs me. Some of the episodes are just randomness thrown out there.

Also, Pokemon. HOW MANY OF THEM CAN YOU MAKE AND/OR CATCH? Geez! Seriously killed the show for me. Plus Yu-Gi-Oh used to be cool, in my opinion. It's just too much when they continue an anime for too long. I tend to lose interest in it, so I miss out on a bunch of stuff because it becomes too boring for me. Some just need to end nicely.

FLCL wasn't that long, and it was... Weird. o_O Okay, better example: Chobits. SUCH an awesome story that didn't take forever. Know what I mean? Loved it. Death Note? Only 12 volumes of thought process. Awesomeness, too. Also Hot Gimmick was only 12 volumes long, though, the ending sucked. Still, you get my point.

What do you think about animes that keep going for tons of episodes/volumes?
AHA. Samexy, I share your sentiments!

I gave up InuYasha early on in the series after I figured out just how long it would take for it to go anywhere. Same with Naruto. And the newer Pokemon series (I'm still a nerd for the original 151 pokemon stuff though).

I'll take my anime short, sweet and to the point, please. Best example I can think of is Cowboy Bebop: 26 episodes, no filler. I don't want fifty thousand episodes to explain a simple plot. Blah.

Here here!!
For the love of GOD WHY???I mean, look how long is One Piece!
I was going to try Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Gintama but when I found out that it's one of those un-godly long series, I dumped it.

I only read the Naruto and Bleach manga though. I started with those and that'll be it.
i'm totally against it if the anime's too episode based

i mean... if you just start watching the anime and need to go back to the begining because otherwise you can't catch up to the storyline
It depends on the anime, for me. For instance, some things are so epic, they can't be contained in a single series (Universal Century Mobile Suits Gundam spans more than ten different series, each with its highs and lows). On the other hand, there are shows like Record of Lodoss War: Chronicle of the Heroic Knight. 26 or 27 episodes of utter beauty in all forms. It COULD have been longer, but it didn't need to be.
There are some anime that are worth watching a ton of episodes over, but I do tend to forget some of the most basic things when further on in the series. I know they either do it for money, or they're really into it, but I'm looking for another anime that isn't so dragged out. How many short anime's are there, anyway? Not many, huh?
Short animes, huh? Try Macross. It was less than a season long, so when they dubbed it in the US, they lumped it together with two other series to meet the "minimum ep requirement" to be called a series in the US
I think the longest series I was into was Zoids. Watched Chaotic Century and Guardian Force obsessively. New Century Zero kicked ass too.
Naruto Pissed me off, ALOT! Since he fought Sasuke it was nothing but filler after filler for the most part. Bleach at least TRIES to keep things interesting ya know?

But I do agree. KISS, Keep it SHORT stupid. (and while on this subject *kisses thread creator*)

Outlaw Star for Example, 25-26 Ep's long (Don't remember exactly how many) But It got it done, and got it done well, also the Gundam Series, each was about 50 EP's long, but still VERY good.
I agree completely. Naruto, the only anime I've really seen a whole bunch of(still being too much of a noob), in essance, committed suicide with all the crap they put in. I agree pokemon did it, too, but all the episodes I've seen after Johto are crap anyway, so they have another downfall.

And as for shortbut epic, Demonbane-12 episodes and an OVA, but easily the coolest anime I've yet seen.
