The Hallow Life Rules
These are the site rules that you agree to upon registration. The Staff has the right to enforce these rules at their discretion.
  1. Respect the staff. Simple enough. The staff has the final verdict on a decision. Period. You want to argue with them, go ahead. Don't expect any argument back though.
  2. Respect your fellow user. No one can force you to like someone..but just show a little respect. If you're going to be an ass to everyone here, stay off the forums. And because this is the most frequently broken rule on the site, the staff will be coming down harder on this rule. The staff is aware of most of the past and current grievances between members. If you want to argue, either take it off of the site (meaning, over email, instant messenger, whatever) or handle it via PM.
  3. Don't hack this site. There will be unpleasant results...and yes, we mean unpleasant. Trying to hack or exploit the site where the site owner probably knows how you did it...will not end well. Enough said. And since Viral Dragon does know most of the exploits of his own site, any violators of this rule will be dealt with immediately. However - should you find one do not try to use it - report it to Viral Dragon or Icey immediately.
  4. Watch your damn language. There are currently no language filters in place and no one cares if you use foul language here...just don't drop f-bomb after f-bomb. It's just annoying and it will be edited out if it happens in excess. And if this rule is abused, the unfortunate filters will have to come into play.
  5. Advertising is allowed. Spam isn't. Recognize the difference. Advertising your website is allowed in the Advertising forum (minimum of 25 posts to advertise). Blatant spam like "download this ringtone!" will be deleted on sight and the user banned. In addition, frequent spammers will be subject to warnings and any suspensions that may follow.
  6. Don't post your porn collection. Pornographic stories and role plays are allowed in the appropriate forums. Artistic nudes or maybe a suggestive photo is allowed - as long as the material in question does not go beyond "softcore" pornography and is clearly labeled or warned as 18+. However: audio/video files of porn are not allowed. Anything that violates US law (such as child pornography) will be deleted on-sight and the user will be banned.
  7. Don't give out personal information. Don't disclose any personal info of anyone member on the forum - including yourself. This includes anything like address, phone number, social security number, school, etc, unless otherwise stated. First names are allowed to be used, if the person allows you to do so.
  8. Plagiarism is forbidden. As this site does display artwork and stories, ripping any work and claiming it as your own is forbidden, and will result in an automatic ban. If you want to repost someone else's work, give credit where credit is due and link back to the original work or website it is off of. Respect the artist, please.
  9. If you're going to leave, just leave. THL has had a few problems with people leaving and either insisting that all of their posts be deleted, or replacing their posts with what is technically spam so their posts will be deleted. Know that as of now, the staff will not delete posts upon a member's departure. And should you want to try and delete your own posts or replace them, you will quickly be placed in a user group where this is impossible. However, if there is a legitimate reason (and not because you're sick of the forum), then PM the administrators and they will look into the reason.
  10. Multiple accounts are forbidden. We don't care what your cause is. Multiple accounts will be banned on-sight - no exceptions. The only possible exception to this rule is if you get express permission from the administrators which, unless there is a good reason for it, is not likely to happen.
  11. Do not post malicious material. We have had forums and topics on everything from hacking to software and music piracy in the past, but it is not allowed anymore. We do not condone any sort of malicious hacking or piracy and will not tolerate it on our website. Requests for warez, mp3 downloads, movie downloads, hacking, hacking advice/lessons, etc, will not be allowed and the user will be warned.
  12. English. Do you speak it? The majority of the users at The Hallow Life speak English, so English is the primary language on this board. Exceptions would be for (light) "leet speak," and other forms of internet slang, or for people whose English is choppy. But please, don't post in other languages without a direct translation below, otherwise your posts will be deemed as spam.
  13. Follow the rules. There aren't many to begin with and they're not too hard to follow. So save the staff a little grief, alright? And we should get along just fine.

Thank you.

~The Hallow Life staff
